This four-part program offers students a comprehensive review of Radiology
Technology in preparation for the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists (ARRT) examination. Courses take place at PCC's
Community
Education Center.
Prerequisite: Full California Radiology Licensure (CRT); graduate from
accredited
college, 2-3 years Radiology Technology Program.

ARRT Exam Review
- Part I:
Radiation Protection and Patient Care &
Education
This session covers two modules. Radiation
Protection will cover the ionizing effects of radiation, patient and
personnel radiation protection and radiation exposure and monitoring. The
Patient Care and Education module covers; legal and ethical aspects of
healthcare, patient communication and safety, infection control and patient
monitoring, medical emergencies and contrast media. A $50 materials fee is
required and payable to the instructor in class. CEUs may be offered.

ARRT Exam Review
- Part II:
Equipment Operation & Quality Control and
Image Acquisition & Evaluation
This session covers two modules. Equipment
Operation & Quality Control covers the principals of radiation physics,
radiographic, fluoroscopic and digital imaging equipment, x-ray circuitry,
image quality and control. The Image Acquisition & Evaluation part will
cover the technical factors of image quality, image processing and image
evaluation. A $50 materials fee is required and payable to the instructor in
class. CEUs may be offered.

ARRT Exam Review
- Part III:
Image Procedures
This session will cover general radiographic
procedural considerations, radiographic positioning, radiographic pathology,
osteology, and review of the following body systems; skeletal, respiratory,
bilary, gastrointestinal, urinary, reproductive, central nervous system and
cardiovascular. A $50 materials fee is required and payable to the
instructor in class. CEUs may be offered.

ARRT Exam Review
- Part IV:
Computerized Imaging
This session will cover an overview of the
basic principles of computerized digital imaging to include CR, DR image
acquisition, processing and manipulation, PACS technology, archiving and
digital imaging quality management. A $50 materials fee is required and
payable to the instructor in class. CEUs may be offered.
